CCE Curriculum — Irving ISD VILS Labs

Career and College Explorations | Irving ISD | TEKS §127.2

A 36-week career exploration course taught in VILS labs across Irving ISD middle schools as a new prep, distinct from the Engineering VILS curriculum. Each week has a Weekly Overview (objectives, TEKS, materials, assessments) and 5 Daily Lesson Plans (detailed activity flows with deliverables).

Read before teaching: Resources Status

The daily plans describe what students do and give facilitation notes, but presentation slides, student worksheets, and Common Formative Assessments are not yet built. Check the Resources Status & Backlog page to see what's ready, what's partial, and what still needs to be authored before a week is fully turnkey.

How to Navigate This Site

  1. Start with the Scope & Sequence to see the full year at a glance.
  2. Pick a Six Weeks block from the left nav, then a Week, then an Overview or Day page.
  3. When you find something missing you would need to teach (slides, a worksheet, an answer key), log it in the Resources Status & Backlog so it gets added to the build queue.

Prototype week to read first

If you are new to this curriculum, start with 5th Six Weeks, Week 1: Architecture (Overview + Day 1). It was the first week built and the format reference for all the others, so reading it gives you the clearest sense of the shape every week follows.
