TEKS

  • d(1)(C): identify Arts/AV career opportunities and work products (Days 1, 3, 5).
  • d(6)(A): identify steps in an effective job search (Day 4; reassessed Day 5).
  • d(7)(A): write and revise a résumé (Days 2, 3, and 5).

Evidence and Platform Boundaries

  • The required résumé works in Canvas or on paper. Xello Resume Builder is supplemental and may receive an optional copy; it is not the only evidence and is not a Grade 8 completion standard.
  • Students do not exchange devices or logins. Peer review is optional and uses a student-controlled redacted copy. No home address, personal phone/email, birth date, ID numbers, photo, family information, references, or unauthorized contact information is collected.
  • H&L App Exploration, eDynamic units, Adobe Podcast, Canva, and Adobe Express are supplemental tools. Canva, Adobe Express, and paper are equal design routes.
  • Podcast work is a plan, not a public recording. Merch Mode uses fictional original brands; students do not copy real bands, logos, album art, characters, or trademarks.
  • Current Irving evidence names Graphic Design and Digital Communication at Irving High, MacArthur, and Nimitz. Public listings do not guarantee schedule, credential, placement, admission, equipment, or employment.

Materials

  • Canvas paired guides and six compact CCE artifacts totaling thirteen pages
  • locked compressed FYF pp. 255-258 and 270-273
  • Chromebook or paper; optional Canva/Adobe Express; pencils/markers
  • current CareerOneStop résumé guidance, BLS Graphic Designers page, and Irving ISD CTE listing

Grading

Days 1-4 build the evidence. Day 5 is Minor 2 in the 6SW assessment map and remains unpublished until teacher transfer. Score truthfulness/privacy, visible résumé revision, the safe seven-step job-search process, tailored evidence, and a specific next action. Merch Mode receives formative design feedback; platform choice, graphic polish, personal work history, public sharing, and English mechanics are not scored unless meaning is unclear.
