Daily Learning Contract
- Topic: Revision Evidence
- Objective: Students will identify a sound-production career opportunity and revise an audio cue and one résumé bullet so another reader can act without guessing.
- TEKS: d(1)(C), d(7)(A)
- Demonstration of Learning: completed FYF audio-cue work, one-page résumé before-and-after revision record, and reviewed Quiz feedback.
TEKS: d(1)(C), d(7)(A) Evidence: FYF audio cues + one-page résumé revision record + practice Quiz
Before Class
Per student, provide FYF pp. 272-273, a pencil, the Day 2 resume, and one revision record. Project this cue model: Fast rubber-soled footsteps cross a tile floor, then stop at the metal bowl. Resume model: Before: Creative. After: Designed two flyer layouts and revised the larger heading after feedback. Post the unlimited-retry Quiz. Peer review is optional and only through a student-controlled redacted copy.
50-Minute Flow
- Attention-to-detail model — 7 min. Another worker should be able to act without guessing.
- Complete the FYF cue work — 15 min. Add action, object/material, surface/environment, timing/intensity, and mood where relevant.
- Resume evidence audit — 13 min. Replace one vague claim and repair one consistency issue.
- Record the revision — 10 min. Keep the before and after evidence and explain why the change helps the reader.
- Quiz/exit — 5 min. Review explanatory feedback and name the strongest repair.
Monitor and Key
At minute 14, each cue should name an action plus at least two useful conditions. If one-third only add adjectives, label material, surface, and timing in the model. At minute 31, the resume record should preserve the vague before and specific after. At minute 44, students should explain why the change helps and name one consistency repair. Multiple cue rewrites are correct when they are safe, specific, and internally consistent. Do not ask students to create unsafe sound effects. Resume revision must be visible; “fixed it” without before/after evidence is incomplete. Safe trim: complete one cue together and leave the Quiz for catch-up; protect the before/after resume evidence. Collect the revision record and return resumes.
Absence and Access
The locked FYF pages plus the one-page résumé record are the complete no-workbook route. Xello is optional; revision can occur in any private document or on paper.
