Team of 2 · Tests and on-site circuit challenge

Electrical Applications

You and a partner will build and measure a circuit from a diagram.

You take individual tests. You build the assigned circuit if you advance. You measure and explain the solution.

What you make or do

  • Prepare for individual tests on electrical and electronic theory.
  • If you advance, assemble a circuit from the supplied schematic, take required measurements, and explain your solution in an interview.

This year’s challenge

No separate annual theme is posted. The circuit problem is supplied at the conference.

How the competition works

Before the event

Study circuit concepts, practice using a breadboard and multimeter, and prepare the toolkit required by the guide. Each teammate brings a laptop for the online test.

First round

Both teammates take the one-hour test individually. Their average score determines the team's ranking.

If you advance

Work together for one hour to build the assigned circuit and measure it using your own kit. Stay with the circuit for the judges' interview.

Know before you choose: You bring components and tools, but build the competition circuit during the event. Both teammates must remain the same for the test and circuit rounds.

How your work is scored

The average test score contributes to the final score. Judges also assess the circuit's accuracy and completeness, correct component use, measurements, and your explanation.
