Team of 3–6 · Published website with documentation and possible presentation
Website Design
Your team creates and launches a website that explains the subject in the year's design brief.
What you make or do
- Build and launch a website with at least three pages that responds to the current design brief.
- Include a page labeled Reference with sources, any required permissions, and PDF links to the completed Student Copyright Checklist and Work Log.
- Prepare to explain the website's design, originality, and technical choices in a presentation and interview if selected.
This year’s challenge
For 2027, create an informational website for a fictional space exploration program. Explain its mission goals, crew, technology, and significance for the future of human space exploration to the general public, especially students your age.
How the competition works
Before the event
Build the site during the current school year, make it accessible online with its documentation, and submit the entry URL by the official pre-conference deadline.
First round
Judges review the submitted website and its response to the design brief to choose semifinalists.
If you advance
Give a presentation of up to five minutes and answer questions for up to five minutes. Up to six team representatives may participate.
Know before you choose: The website must be accessible without a password or access request. Frameworks may be used, but prebuilt templates and themes are not permitted; read the documentation requirements for your chosen tools.
How your work is scored
Judges score the website's response to the theme and challenge, content, navigation, graphics, function, compatibility, and writing. Semifinalists also earn presentation/interview scores.
