Daily Learning Contract
- Topic: Career Opportunities
- Objective: Students will test a concept against the brief, document one evidence-based revision, and explain which Architecture & Construction worker uses the evidence next.
- TEKS: d(1)(C)
- Demonstration of Learning: Private design submission, revision record, and next-worker work-product explanation.
Lesson Overview
| Time | 50 minutes |
| Target | Test a concept against the brief, document one evidence-based revision, and explain which Architecture & Construction worker uses the evidence next. |
| TEKS | d(1)(C) |
| Evidence | Private design submission, revision record, and next-worker work-product explanation |
Before Class
Default: one device and retained Day 3 concept per student, one projector, and zero prints. Paper: one three-page revision record per student, the retained design, pencils/rulers as needed, and one collection tray per class. If using the optional Tinkercad extension, open the tested Classroom and current export directions. Canvas ownership should identify the student; do not require a full-name public filename.
50-Minute Flow
1. Set one goal — 5 minutes
Students compare yesterday’s checkpoint with the brief and write one priority: complete, fix, or clarify.
2. Targeted reteach — 5 minutes
Reteach only the operation most students marked as uncertain. Students already ready begin their build.
3. Build and test — 27 minutes
Use three visible checkpoints:
- Minute 15: footprint, four exterior walls, roof, and response mode are visible;
- Minute 25: entrance, two windows, and purposeful feature are labeled;
- Minute 37: test evidence, revision, expected improvement, next worker, and limitation are present.
Students record the original choice, test evidence, revision, and why the revision helps the fictional user. Digital and paper routes use the same checklist.
4. Requirement review — 8 minutes
Students check the brief and revision record. Labeled bullets or the complete frame are acceptable when they preserve every evidence job.
5. Submit and clean up — 5 minutes
Students submit privately, name the next worker and one model limitation, then return materials. If time expires, save the same artifact for a teacher-scheduled recovery window; do not create a second worksheet.
Teacher Look-Fors
- The design meets the brief or clearly marks an unfinished requirement.
- Revision claims cite visible test evidence.
- Students do not claim structural safety, code compliance, accessibility compliance, or construction readiness.
- Digital access and artistic polish do not change the score.
Absence and Platform Route
Students use the two-view concept, requirement checklist, and revision record. No partner, live demonstration, or personal account is required.
