Teacher Run Card: Closing Lesson 2 — Post-Survey

Daily Learning Contract

Topic: Year-end reflection and course feedback

Objective: Students will reflect on their course experience and independently communicate accurate feedback.

TEKS: No independent Grade 8 Technology Applications TEKS claim. This lesson provides operational, preparatory, or cross-curricular evidence.

Demonstration of learning: Completed confidential Canvas post-survey recorded in Canvas.

Before class

  • Test the survey on a student device and reserve protected in-class time.
  • Prepare a brief privacy and purpose statement.
  • Use a completion tracker that does not expose survey responses.

Five-part lesson flow

  1. Launch: Explain why the survey matters and that it is not graded.
  2. Orient: Show where to open it and state the expected completion time.
  3. Respond: Students complete it independently.
  4. Verify: Check completion status, not individual answers.
  5. Close: Thank students and give unfinished respondents a clear completion path before they leave.

Check before students leave

Canvas records a completed survey submission; no response content is publicly discussed or graded.

Support without lowering the thinking

Read directions aloud, provide quiet time, and offer accessibility support for navigation. Preserve privacy: adults may help students access the survey but should not influence their responses.
